I swear when Ian looked under Madison's coat and made that comment about the way she was dressed I felt like he was a father telling his teenage daughter "Young lady, how dare you leave the house/hotel room dressed like that."

Gee, where did Madison's tough-girl persona go? It all went straight out the window with Ian showing up. Amazing! Ian is creepy by the way with the potential to be a really over-the-top villain. I'm not sure if that'll be a good thing or a bad thing. Ian having scenes or a connection to Sonny also makes me wonder. Sonny is a young world traveler and I'm assuming Ian is too. Did Ian know Sonny elsewhere? Maybe Ian has a son who dated Sonny? Or does Ian have some really naughty knowledge of some kind concerning Sonny? This could be where Sonny's goody-two-shoes persona gets torn down, if we learn some naughty things about him via Ian.

Until today, Will has been the only interesting one on this show. Ian looks good today, let's see what happens.

Madison looked scared! This Ian dude is going to be major bad news and I like it. I hope he's not all talk and no action.

Will/Sami/Rafe were excellent today. The writing was sharp and the acting was spot on. Chandler's incredulous expressions were so perfect and I loved the way he played with Sami and yet also called her on her BS. Rafe was so remorseful, I almost forgot what an ass he's been. Sami was selfish Sami, unable to bend or be empathetic. It was all about her pain. Poor Rafe out the door without even an 'I love you' back. You could really tell Sami has just given up at this point. Well played all round.

I'm just not into the whole John/Hope off we go to Almania to get a divorce story. Maybe it will pick up once travel gets under way, but for right now I could care less about any of it.

How funny of Brady announcing to Austin he just proposed when the woman didn't give him an answer. How is anyone suppose to respond to that?
Austin might want to lay off the beers for awhile and stay sharp.

It's official, for the first time in what seems like forever, I'm totally hooked on Days again..I really feel this has been the best Days has been in a long time...I've been watching the Will story since the deadbaby sex and really enjoying it, but I'm finally interesting in the whole show now.

In just one episode, I'm totally hooked on the Brady, Madison and Ian storyline. I finally care about Madison and Ian is going to be bad ass. Love him.

Also, the Carrie/Rafe kiss and Austin/Abby scandal has totally spiced up this storyline. There is nothing better on soaps than secrets and this Austin/Abby one is quite the doozy...I love that Austin has a huge secret he's keeping from Carrie, that she will eventually find out. Which will pave the way for Carrie and Rafe to get together, after he discovers Sami and Ej's secret...And then Carrie will find out that Austin didn't really do anything, but it will be too late. Love it...

Finally, I'm thankful for Mardar for giving the big 4 a frontburner storyline. It may not be the most believeable, but I'm willing to give it a chance.

Then Carrie will realize she was wrong to leave Austin but by that time she will have moved on with Rafe and then she'll spend months waffling between both men trying to figure out who she wants to be with more. Sound familiar?

It sounds perfectly soapy and I love it.

What I liked the most was when Austin and Carrie were talking about moving back to Switzerland, that’s where they belong! Please let Carrie and Sami grow up and stop fighting over their men, they are not teens anymore, let them move into the grownup world! Sami was even dressed like a teeny-bobber on her way to a prep-rally! :cheer: :cheer:

I don't understand the big controversy about John & Hope running off to get married. How did they have time? Probably the same way that EJ became old enough to marry Sami & be Will's stepfather when Will is older than he is. Or how Bo anded up Zach's bio-father when, to do so, it means that Hope had to be pregnant for the better part of a year and a half (if I remember my math from back then correctly). I gave up figuring out logical timelines for this soap years ago because it gives me a head ache. It's like everyone in town has their own personal TARDIS so that they can jump around in time at their own leisure.
This might sound ridiculous, but I see those situations in two categories. Things that played out on screen, and things that didn't. For better or worse, soaps have always brought people back at a different age or filled in "missing years" after the fact. But if we watch something take place and then it's rewritten, that's worse imo. I'd be much more impressed now if the writers took the time to investigate where in 98/99 this could have fit in. Even pinpoint an episode! Was Marlena away for a week in the spring of '99? Hmm! But to throw a general "before John and Marlena's wedding" in there really makes no sense to me.
I haven't watched this week's Bo/Hope/John/Marlena scenes closely yet and haven't read all of the threads so maybe this has been explained, but why is Stefano saying that John and Hope's marriage took place before John and Marlena's when the marriage certificate said July 13 (at least that's what it looked like on my TV)? That's when the subsex took place, which of course happened after J&M's wedding. Did anyone else notice this? This has been bothering me for a couple of days now. Seems like the writers aren't communicating with each other or something because this seems like such a huge oversight that you would think someone would have caught.

Such a new concept. I don't know how MarDar ever came up with it.

When Melanie has emotional affairs with and kisses men involved with someone else, why does the "someone else" always have to apologize to HER? Why does Melanie get to tell lies about how nothing happened and everyone nods and smiles and takes the blame? I assume Abby is pretending she believes that because she needs the poptart for something.

Melanie: "Please tell me what's happening, my life has been tragically boring."
Me: "Your life has been joyfully OFFSCREEN. Let's keep it that way."

I love Will gleefully telling Sami he hates her and that she's a lying slut. Nice also to see Sami teetering on the brink of exposure. I thought the conversation flowed very well when Rafe arrived and Will almost blew Sami's cover then even after he gave her a reprieve was shocked to learn Rafe had been kicked out, not left voluntarily (like anyone sane would have long ago). I've come around to the idea that it's much better to have had Cafe busted first because this actually works to make Sami look worse--I can't wait to see him excoriate her for pretending that he was the only transgressor and their marriage was perfect otherwise. Don't deny me this, show--DON'T DENY ME. The day Rafe stops kissing Sami's ass and takes his balls back from her, I will throw confetti in the air.

And of course Sami's happy she made Rafe feel like crap, Will. That's what she does. That's who she IS. Her raison d'etre is to barge through life being selfish, nasty and worthless yet have others better than she feel inferior to her.

Austin: "A drink? A DRINK??" Has nobody ever asked him to have a drink before, lol? Oh, Brady . . . I was just starting to get on board with Bradison now that Ian provides some nice conflict but you lost me with "she's so sexy I don't even care that she speaks her mind sometimes." How gracious and progressive of you.

Carrie: "Try explaining [that you were brainwashed] to a judge." Yeah, I wouldn't want to be the one doing that. I love though how we're pretending Alamainia is a real country. As ridiculous as the premise for this whole story is, I find I'm enjoying the individual scenes; I just can't think too hard about the overall reasoning for it.

Wouldn't it have been understandable (and funnier) if Brady had automatically assumed Ian was Madison's father?

So if Madison is scared of Ian, then who is the person she's been talking to on the phone since she arrived in Salem? I thought it was him, but she hasn't shown any fear or unease with that other person. It's someone who's advising and supporting her business decisions.

Also, she wasn't bothering to hide her relationship with Brady. They were constantly hanging out in HTS where anyone could see them. She never expressed any reticence about anything to do with Brady until he proposed. Heck, when he declared his love, she was thrilled and threw herself into his arms, saying she loved him, too. No holding back. We never even saw her looking over her shoulder.

In other words, there was no real foreshadowing. All of a sudden, Ian shows up, and she's terrified. And I don't think she thought he was dead, because she doesn't seem all that surprised to see him. What's up with that?

I think it's Ian. There's a difference between talking to the bad guy on a phone and actually seeing that person in your town.

"My gut tells me there's something else going on."

BOOM. There it was. Galen's Luis was always talking about his "gut" feelings on "Passions." Very nice nod to NBC daytime history, writers!

First of all: YES!!! Really like that Ian went for it: "Madison's husband." You know he just knew Brady was the "town joe" who had been warming her bed, even without actually knowing it for certain. And that's why he just dug right into it.

Meanwhile, not paying too much attention to the spoilers so very intrigued about the Will/Rafe scenes. Will Will tell? I can't imagine he would, because he would lose the freedom he wants so bad, that paid-for apartment EJ's giving him! Nah... not gonna happen.

Well, hello, Ian! I think Madison is going to finally get interesting!

Austin, I have always liked you but am not sure why because I hate your wishy/washy ways....please dredge up some courage and just confront Abby and tell her you love your wife and are planning to work on your marriage and NO, you are NOT going to dinner or anywhere else with her. And why did Austin assume he had sex with Abby anyway? He woke up fully dressed with no memories of anything but a kiss. Big leap there!

I'm going to say this quick and then run away...I like Melanie and was glad to see her back today. I like the friendship with Abby and thought those were some nice scenes. As for her comment about practicing her poses, that's how she's been written for a long time now, as a young, sweet but rather silly girl. She fits in much better now than when she was mixed up with EJ, Philip and Brady.

If you've never been blackout drunk, then I can see why this would seem strange, but Austin apparently literally has no memory of anything after the kiss until he woke up. It's quite possible to function while in a blackout even when you don't remember what you're doing, so he could easily believe they had sex after the kiss, he got dressed again (pulled up his pants, whatever) and crashed on the sofa. He doesn't remember but apparently Abigail does, and so far he's had no reason to disbelieve anything she says. As far as he knows she's a bright, well-adjusted young woman, not a psycho like young (and current) Sami. She's his student and a family friend; I don't think it very likely he'd call her a liar and really, how would he even verify or refute what she said? He can't remember and he never will.
